In this edition of BROADCAST, Simon sits down with Nichola, one of the newest members of the LDL Sales Team. Nichola brings a wealth of industry experience to the business, particularly with our principal brand partner, Blum. We caught up with her to learn more about her background, her impressions of LDL so far, and her thoughts on the journey ahead.

In this edition of BROADCAST, Simon sits down with Nichola, one of the newest members of the LDL Sales Team. Nichola brings a wealth of industry experience to the business, particularly with our principal brand partner, Blum. We caught up with her to learn more about her background, her impressions of LDL so far, and her thoughts on the journey ahead.

Q. Simon: Great to sit down and catch up properly. It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed since you joined us. Let’s start at the beginning, can you tell us a bit about your background?

A. Nichola:

Thank you, the time’s definitely flown by which is nice. I’ve been in the KBB industry for quite a few years now, I’ve worked closely with a lot of the great brands, especially Blum. I’ve always enjoyed the technical side of the industry, understanding customers technical challenges and how I can help solve their problems with an array of products, and ultimately help customers to create great kitchens and furniture. Blum has been a constant throughout my career, so I feel very at home talking about their products and solutions.

Q. Simon: That came across when we very first spoke, your product knowledge especially Blum's was fantastic. So what was it that made you decide LDL was the right next career step for you ?

A. Nichola:

Honestly? It was the reputation LDL has in the market. I’d worked for a competitor for many years and felt like I knew so much about you already from the other side, especially the emphasis on quality and service, customers loved it and it was really clear you didn't just sell components, you took the time to understand the customer, their business, and what they actually needed from you to help them. I also liked the way you present Blum solutions, I mean how you make them easy for customers by creating single code solutions, special packaging etc, oh and obviously its always nice to have exclusive products that no one else offers. There are many things that appealed to me but the combination of excellent products and outstanding service was important.

Q. Simon: That's great to hear, and how have you found it so far now you’re part of the team?

A. Nichola:

It’s been brilliant actually. Everyone has been so friendly, and it's a really great team. There’s a huge amount of knowledge within the business, and you quickly see how much effort goes into making everything run as smoothly as possible for the customer. Everything really seems to matter regardless of where I've been in the business, everyone takes pride in what they do. And I’ve been genuinely impressed with how forward-thinking the business is, always looking at what’s next and how we can make things better.

Q. Simon: Ok so Blum is obviously a huge part of our business here. From your perspective, how does LDL’s approach to Blum stand out?

A. Nichola:

Well Blum’s products are fantastic anyway so a good place to start, but I think its fair to say Blum products are not always the easiest for customers to understand, its such a large product range and you can do anything with them but it needs an LDL to simplify it and provide appropriate support without diluting the quality or breadth of the offering. You’ve made Blum easy and accessible, whether that’s for a small manufacturer, a retailer, or a trade installer. You’re always looking at what else can be done to offer differentials for customers like with the LEGRABOX 150 and the ECO top ranges. Our approach to packaging really seems to resonate with customers too and sustainability is definitely becoming more important so were well versed in that which is refreshing.

Q. Simon: Excellent, so you’ve already been engaging with your customers and getting to know their business and how we support them. What’s the general feedback been like so far about us?

A. Nichola:

Very positive. Customers love the speed and reliability of the service, but more than that, they trust the support they get. They know if they pick up the phone to LDL, they’ll speak to someone who actually knows what they’re talking about and can help straight away. That’s invaluable. You can tell that customers see LDL as an extension of their own business, which is a real credit to the culture here.

Q. Simon: Long may that continue. Last question, what are you most looking forward to as you settle further into the role?

A. Nichola:

I’m excited to keep building relationships, both with existing customers and new ones. There’s so much opportunity with the new products coming through, and it’s great to be part of a business that’s so passionate about delivering for its customers. I’m looking forward to growing with LDL, and hopefully adding a bit of my own experience along the way!

Simon: Fantastic, well it’s great to have you on board, I know the customers already appreciate having you in their corner.

Nichola: Thank you, really enjoying it and looking forward to what’s ahead!
